Special Laser Training Weeks – 5th, 12th and 19th May.

Each May we start our season with 3 weeks of ‘intensive’ Laser trainings suitable for anyone with racing experience who’d like to see themselves move further up the fleet.  This year our Laser training weeks will be run by Fraser Kitson-Jones who has extensive racing and coaching experience.

The first part of the week is dedicated to the improvement of boat-handling and boat speed both upwind and downwind, while in the latter part of the week, we move on to applying these skills in racing scenarios.  Sailors can expect plenty of opportunities to perfect their start sequences, and once the wind picks up in the afternoons, there will be plenty of chances to improve their high-wind gybing technique.

Coaching sessions on the water take place every morning and afternoon with each session followed by a debriefing.  There will also be in-depth lectures and video feedback at the end of the day in the beachside bar, giving sailors a chance not only to learn from coaches but also their peers.  The small size of the groups provides us with an opportunity to record at the beginning of the week the aspects of your sailing that you would like to work on and personalise your training plan.

Please note that if you join us for the first week there will also be a Laser regatta at Wildwind organised in association with the Vassiliki Sailing Club on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th – a chance to pit yourself against some teams from local Greek sailing clubs too!

The staff at Wildwind are really special. Over the years that I've been running Laser training camps where I've always been extremely impressed with just how much they put in to ensure their clients are totally satisfied with the Wildwind experience.” Chris Gowers, Team GB Head Olympic coach.
