Special Laser Training Weeks – 5th, 12th and 19th May. (5th May now full)

Sail Lasers?  Get your season off to a flying start at Wildwind.

Our much-acclaimed Laser training weeks take place in May every year and are limited to 12 participants each week – all sailing our brand new fleet!  These weeks are best suited to sailors who have at least a year of club racing under their belts.

The first part of the week is dedicated to the improvement of boat-handling and boat speed both upwind and downwind, while in the latter part of the week, we move on to applying these skills in racing scenarios.  Sailors can expect plenty of opportunities to perfect their start sequences, and once the wind picks up in the afternoons, there will be plenty of chances to improve their high-wind gybing technique.

Coaching sessions on the water take place every morning and afternoon with each session followed by a debriefing.  There will also be in-depth lectures and video feedback at the end of the day in the beachside bar, giving sailors a chance not only to learn from coaches but also their peers.  The small size of the groups provides us with an opportunity to record at the beginning of the week the aspects of your sailing that you would like to work on and personalise your training plan.

This year our Laser training weeks will be run by Fraser Kitson-Jones who we were lucky enough to have to work for us last season.  Fraser has extensive racing and coaching experience.  Here is a summary of his sailing career so far.

“I have sailed since I can remember, and really got into racing at around 12, jumping straight into the 29er, somewhat due to my love of speed. Competed in three Europeans, two World Championships, and several national rankers in the 29er class. Achieving 1st mixed boat at the 2015 Worlds and carrying the flag for Scotland at the opening ceremony was a particular highlight.”

Join us for any of the Laser training weeks and you’ll see improvements in your sailing and racing ability after even your first day.  And, there’s no better place to enjoy learning new skills than in Vassiliki’s beautiful bay.

Prices start at only £855 including your flight (LGW), overseas transfers, accommodation and as much sailing and coaching as you could want.

May 5th – £855, May 12th - £915, May 19th £985

Please note that there will also be a Laser regatta at Wildwind organised in association with the Vassiliki Sailing Club on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th – a chance to pit yourself against some teams from local Greek sailing clubs too!

“The staff at Wildwind are really special. Over the years that I've been running Laser training camps where I've always been extremely impressed with just how much they put in to ensure their clients are totally satisfied with the Wildwind experience.” Chris Gowers, Team GB Head Olympic coach.
