New programmes for kids and teens at Wildwind
Discover the Wildwind Youth Squad and Wildwind&##39;s Splash Club
One reason why families love to come to Wildwind is the special care we have for kids and teens. Not only is it great for kids as they&##39;ll have so much fun, it&##39;s also fantastic for parents who can sail whenever they want, with the confidence that their children are in safe hands.
For the 2025 season, we have revamped our Club for Teens & Kids and turned it into two separate programmes so that all our young guests get a holiday that&##39;s best tailored to their specific desires and abilities.
Kids from age 7 to teens aged 17 are welcome to opt-in to our special youth programmes. At the start of the week, they can choose one of two options: the Wildwind Splash Club, which only requires water confidence and a willingness to get involved, and the Youth Squad, for which we ask that all participants either have RYA stage 2 or a similar ability. If your kids wish to join you on the regular programme instead, they are more than welcome - the choice is theirs.
Wildwind&##39;s Splash Club – maximum fun!
The first option is the Wildwind Splash Club, where your kids can explore everything that Wildwind has to offer, but with a solid focus on maximum fun. Spend the mornings learning how to sail, join on a picnic sail-away to BBQ Beach with our professional instructors or take out our stand-up paddleboards for fun in and around the centre. In the afternoons, when the wind in the bay gets stronger, we&##39;ll enjoy Vassiliki’s swimming pools, enjoy treasure hunts or go crazy at the waterpark. Every day is a new adventure!
The Wildwind Youth Squad – sail as much as possible!
You&##39;ve come to Wildwind for sailing, so sailing is what you&##39;ll do! We have a number of boats specifically designed for younger sailors, including Optimists, RS Teras, ILCA 4’s and 6’s, RS Feva’s, and a Hobie Dragoon, but in the Youth Squad the whole fleet is at their disposal. Wildwind has the widest range of dinghies and catamarans of any sailing centre in Europe, there really is something for everyone.
If you’re looking for an RYA certificate from stage 3 up to Seamanship Skills, the Youth Squad will accommodate that as well as offering on and off the water instruction and personal coaching in how to trapeze, handle spinnakers as well as some racing practice and techniques. In the afternoons, the Youth Squad can either join in with the Splash Club for their afternoon activities, or experience our world-famous Joyrides with our experienced instructors showing how it’s done.
Wildwind&##39;s Friday Beach Olympics
The Splash Club and Youth Squad come together for the whole of Friday to enjoy what is likely the highlight of the week: the Wildwind Beach Olympics! Rigging boats sailing races, capturing the flag, paddle boarding, swimming and a diving competition go on throughout the day. And at the 6pm prize-giving, Youth prizes are awarded.
Safety first
We&##39;ll discuss personal preferences, skills and abilities with both the kids and their parents at the start of the holiday, so they can make an informed decision on the best programme to choose. As always, we try to be as flexible as possible and accommodate any specific goals. The only true requirements is that all participants must be able to swim and are fairly comfortable in the water. The village of Vassiliki offers a very safe environment, with welcoming local who, as in most Mediterranean countries, have an extremely relaxed attitude to children at their restaurants and tavernas.

Availability of family accommodation
At Wildwind, we have a number of rooms and apartments particularly suited for families of different sizes, including a number of connected rooms. However, especially during the school holidays, these tend to be booked up quickly. At this moment, we still have some availability of family rooms in the months of July and August, but if you plan to visit us with the family, we recommend contacting us sooner rather than later.
Discounts for kids and teens
At Wildwind, we like to promote the sport of sailing and one of the best ways to do this, is to help kids get comfortable on the water at an early age. Since the founding of Wildwind, we have therefore always offered generous discounts for teens and kids, apart from the free and included youth programmes Wildwind&##39;s Spash Club and the Wildwind Youth Squad. Everyone aged 13 to 17 at the start of their holiday receives a discount £125 on a one week holiday and £200 on a two week holiday, whereas kids from 7 to 12 receive double discounts of £250 for one week holiday and £400 for a two week holiday.
